What UHH keeps,
and where it goes.
Plain language, no weasel words. Last updated 25 October 2026.
On your Mac
- Your notes, flashcards, tasks, calendar, GPA, timetable, citations, focus sessions, settings and themes are stored on your own disk, in
~/Library/Application Support/UHH.
- Your session token is kept in a file only your user account can read (mode 0600). No keychain prompt, no plain-text password.
- If you are signed in, the same data is backed up to your own UHH Cloud Drive within about a minute of any change, and the last five backups are kept.
On the server
- An account needs an email address and a hashed password (PBKDF2-SHA256, per-user salt). We store the email so you can sign in and verify the address.
- Forum posts, chat messages, uploaded files and theme listings are stored so other people can see them. Anything you post publicly is public.
- AI requests are metered: we store token counts and the cost in credits, not the text of your prompts.
AI processing
- When you use AI chat, the helper orb, grammar, PDF Chat or theme drafting, your prompt and the files you attach are sent to DeepSeek through our server so the model can answer. That is the only way to produce an answer.
- We do not train models on your content, and we do not sell data. Ever.
- Prefer to keep everything local? Turn the AI switch off in the top bar; every non-AI tool keeps working.
Your controls
- Export everything from Settings, General, Export. Import it on another Mac.
- Delete your account from Settings, Account. That removes your profile, credits and files; forum posts you made stay unless you delete them.
- Email [email protected] for anything the app cannot do itself, including a full export before deletion.
Honest limits
- UHH is in public beta, built by one student. Backups are automatic but not a guarantee; keep your own copy of anything you cannot lose.
- No analytics trackers, no ad SDKs, no third-party pixels on this site or in the app.
- Source Match compares your text with a limited set of public sources. It is not a plagiarism verdict, is not Turnitin, and produces no report.
